All calculations follow Indian Standards (IS 2062, IS 1786, IS 808, IS 1239, IS 4923) and use industry-accepted formulas like D²/162 for round bars and π/4 × (OD² − ID²) × L × ρ for pipes. Our weight charts and reference tables are sourced from published IS standards and verified against manufacturer catalogs.

No. MetaCalc.in does not sell, supply, or deal in any metals, pipes, plates, or raw materials. Our calculators are a free utility, and our buyer–seller feature only connects you with verified sellers. For purchasing steel, you deal directly with the seller.
Are your calculations accurate?
Yes. All calculations use standard engineering formulas and IS-specified density values. The theoretical weight calculated here matches what you would calculate manually using the same formulas. Actual weighbridge weight may differ by 2–10% due to manufacturing tolerances.
Can I use MetaCalc.in for commercial estimation and billing?
Our tool is designed for estimation and reference purposes. While the calculations are accurate, actual commercial billing should be based on weighbridge weight as per standard industry practice. We recommend using our tool for planning, material estimation, and quick cross-checks.
How often is the data updated?
Our weight charts and IS standard data are reviewed periodically. If you notice any outdated or incorrect values, please email us with the correct reference — we will update it promptly.
