📐 Flat Bar Formula
W = Width × Thickness × Length × ρ
W = Width · T = Thickness · L = Length · ρ = Density
Flat Bar Weight Calculation Formula
A flat bar (often called MS Patti in India) is calculated using the exact same logic as a metal plate. The formula is: Weight = Width × Thickness × Length × Density.
For example, if you have a 50mm wide and 6mm thick Mild Steel flat bar that is 6 meters long:
Volume = 0.05m × 0.006m × 6m = 0.0018 m³.
Weight = 0.0018 × 7850 kg/m³ = 14.13 kg.
This calculator automatically converts all your millimeter inputs into standard SI units to provide 100% accurate theoretical weight for fabrication estimates.
